Does anyone know if it possible to rebore a 760 gamemaster from 30-06 to 35 whelen? If it is, any idea on pricing such a thing?

Shouldn't be that difficult, I imagine. The 06 is the parent cartridge, anyway.

As for pricing - here's what Clearwater's price structure looks like.

should be an easy rebore. There is a guy in the NW I believe Oregon, JES reboring that a good many guys on a different forum use I believe its 225.00 just send him the barrel and specify how many grooves and twist you want.

I was concerned about the barrel wall thickness. I didnt know if there would be enough barrel left after the rebore.
Thanks for the posts I'll check those places out.

I never even considered a new barrel. I guess that's something I would contact Remington for? I'll look around online to see what I can find.

This would be a simple re-barrel job that any competent gunsmith could do.
Brownell's sells the .35 caliber barrel in chrome moly or stainless, and in any
    contour you want. Douglas,Shilen, etc. It's a .358" bore on a 30-06 case.
    Best of luck

Grice's in Clearfield had an exclusive production by a special order of the 760/7600 pump-guns(and respective semi-autos) in .35 Whelen made. They may still have that deal with Remington today, or have some in stock.

I'd give Grice's a call to see what they have in guns, or what they can order in barrels. I'm not sure if the 760's and 7600's can interchange barrels though.

Let me quote from the NRA official guide to firearms assembly on this rifle, as this is NOT a "simple" re-barrel job. Sorry.
" The model 760 is classed as a solid-frame rifle ALTHOUGH the barrel does not screw directly into the receiver. The barrel screws into a barrel extension
that carries the breech-bolt locking lug recesses. The barrel extension and barrel bracket are fitted very tightly to the barrel, and their removal requires perfectly fitted vise jaws to prevent deformation of these parts.
In other words, the smith may need to buy a set of vise jaws specific to this rifle. Other than that, this appears to be a very straight-forward job.
It's very possible that the smith may already have the jaws he needs, and there would be no extra exspense.
He may even be able to RENT a set from another smith (they rent chamber tools all the time.)
