AR, legal barrel length?
If I understand the law correctly, the barrel must be 16" to be legal, is that correct? (without needing a special permit)
If I buy the 14.5" barrel, I would need a 1.5" flash hider of some type, permanently attached, to be legal?
Is there a certain type or model of FH that is better?
Thanks.

Re: AR, legal barrel length?
Ask 5 different people which fh/comp is better and you'll probably get at least 6 different answers. I'd say first find out which ones have an effective length of 1.5" or more and then see which ones are left most suit your needs. A benchrest shooter's most likely going to be running a different muzzle device from that on the end of a 3 gunner's rifle.

Re: AR, legal barrel length?
DEFINITELY make sure your f/h IS 1.5 or 1.6" plus in length!!!
I put a YHM Phantom Comp on the 14.5 upper that Addax built for me.
