No gun zone list?
So on 2 other firearms fourms I am on they have a list. Members can post where they have seen "NO GUN" signs or verbage/print. They usually post the name , town and address of location.
I see this as A GOOD thing. First off, it can give a OC'er or CC'er the possible way to avoid arrest or being detained or harassed. Secondly, It would help to identify and maybe deter supporting the anti-gun business's.
Now I know there was somewaht of a list from Grreg during the PaPatriot incedent. But this could be a constantly updated list by members in their travels.
For example one I recently encountered, and took me by surprise.
The VFW in Milford Pa 18337.. They have at the doors the classic Ghostbusters gun sign.. This is the gun with the slashed red circle over it.
When folks post the info, they should NOT add comments, or feelings. Just give the basic info to the point. They should aslo include WHERE on the property they saw the sign/verbage..
For a basic example from the other forum..of one I saw and posted while on vacation in Tennessee.
Name- Quakersteak and lube
address-Merchants circle, Knoxville Tn. 12345
posting- At front doors/entrance, printed/written sign.
***Note, If there is NO signage, but confronted by management. They should post this in posting. Just put "As per managment request". Because as we know not everywhere is posted.
Just like above, Nothing more, nothing less. Basic and to the point. If you were to add this to the forum, I guess it would be best to put under the open/concealed section.

Re: No gun zone list?
Interesting that you note a food and beverage place in Tennessee.
It is my understanding that under the new law there, it is unlawful to possess a firearm in any establishment that serves alcohol and this must be posted at the entrance.

Re: No gun zone list?
I have never seen a no guns sign in PA unless it was a property where carry is forbidden by law. So, I would have nothing to add to the list.

Re: No gun zone list?
I was there last 4th of July week. I could not find anything saying it was against the law.
Some malls have it posted on a rules sign, some establishments have a rules or "NO weapons/firearms" posted by the door. Heck Gander Mtn. in scranton has stuff posted.

Re: No gun zone list?
I don't go to malls much. But I've OC'd in the Palmer mall a few times. Including twice with my mom (ugh). Those were LONG trips. Especially Macy's (ugh). I've OC'd in the Whitehall mall a few times - depending on how you define a "mall," since that place is more like a complex. Or maybe Macy's was Whitehall? I'm trying to repress these horrible memories. Never seen a "no guns" sign.
I've been to the Gander Mountain off of 78 near Harrisburg twice and OC'd both times. Didn't see any no guns signs.
Just never seen one. You could start the list with "Scranton." Even Joe Biden says Scranton is a giant pile of strange people* (*I forget the quote and he probably used worse language )

Re: No gun zone list?
The Gander MTN on Jonestown road in Harrisburg has a sign that says all firarems must be check at the front coutner. And then in small letters, it says something like "this does not pertain to people with LTCF" or something.

Re: No gun zone list?
OK so understand this does not say they HAVE to post a sign. I figured this list could include places with signs on doors or by entrance. This could also be the places where folks have OC'ed or CC'ed and were approached by managers, not customers requesting to remove firearm or leave the premiss.
Now I remember a few folks posting in the " PaPatriot arrested" (Old Country buffet OC dinner) post. There was a pretty darn good list amongst the 100+ pages of posts of the NO/ANTi gun-second amendment retailers. Yes at the time this was focused on the Scranton/Dickson City area.
Thing was this could be a QUICK referance resource. Just enter the info like in my first post, NOTHING more. The way it is now you have to read through the pages of good/bad encounters and in 3 differant sections.
I remember posts of folks being escorted from the Viewmont mall . This was due to a NO weapons rule. Some folks posted of being in Walmart, Home depot etc. and being approached by police and managers, and asked to remove firearm or leave property.
These are the places to post on this list. There should be no post of bad encounter with a shopper/customer on this list. As the shopper/customer is not the STORE policy, it is their own opinion.
