What is it?
I believe it is a Mannlicher but there are NO markings on it except a R and 45 stamped in all over the place. I can't find a picture of another rifle like it with the same stock and the same straight pull bolt.

Re: What is it?
when I removed the barrel I found the tolerance markings and a "87" stamped into the bottom of the barrel near the carrier. The rifling in this thing is Awesome, I can't wait to try it.

Re: What is it?
Yours is a carbine, I have one too, but a full length rifle. Good luck getting the 8X56R bullets, they used to be all over the interwebz but now only a few european manufacturers like Norma makes them
You'll need a enbloc type clip(yes I said CLIP) to hold the rounds in the rifle.

Re: What is it?
Prvi makes ammo for the Steyr.
AIM has the Prvi for $19.95 per 20 and buymilsurp.com has some of the "nazi" marked stuff for $20 per 10 rnds, they also have the clips for sale.
The Nazi ammo usually shows up at shows, but it is drying up so the price has been climbing, I used to get it for $3 or $4 a box, last I remember seeing it was around $15 IIRC.
