Default need advice on 9mm with low recoil

Hello all. I am new and this is my first post. I was wondering if someone can reccomend some 9mm pistols that have low recoil for my wife. It gets expensive to rent all kinds at targetmaster. I have a glock 17 and she said it has way too much kick for her. The springfield xdm 9mm with 4.5 barrel she said was fine. I was wondering if there are some cheaper things people could reccomend we look at. Thanks. I have also thought of her trying a .380 as well is the kick will be a little less and someone else was telling me a lower recoil spring in a glock might help.

    Thanks in advance

I like the feel of the Sig 229.

Since you are new, one might ask a few questions, first.
Will she be carrying this at all or will it be a home defense/range pistol?
Is she ok with shooting enough to press on and get a little more used to the "kick"?

Some kick is related to ammo, but you will have to shoot a lot before you really start to notice that. Heavier pistols will always kick a little less. .380's can kick as well depending on what pistol it is. A lot of .380's are light and have a snappy, quick kick, but not as pounding as a 9mm. All in all, there is not a lot of difference, but if she is sensitive, she may be better suited to a metal frame .380. Some 9mm's do kick more than others simply by weight and design differences, but, as I mentioned before, these differences, in my opinion are negligible.

Let everyone know what the pistol will be used for and you will get more informed responses.

There are not a lot of quality pistols (quality in my opinion) that cost less than the Springfield. A good 9mm that comes to mind with a mild recoil is the Taurus 24/7 Pro. I have four of them and everyone has taken a beating , and they shoot now as good as when they were new. $369. The Smith and Wesson M&P is a super good 9mm with a mild recoil for around $100 more than the Taurus.

THe smoothest , lightest shooting 9mm you will find is the Beretta 92 FS, and your wife will like how easy it is to rack the slide on the Beretta 92, let her try one.

Stay away from the Blowback .380's they kick harder than a good 9mm.

Beretta 92, ^ what he said.

CZ-75's have pretty mild recoil as well.

The 92 is a big gun but it doesn't recoil much at all...

    Two Zero One One.

    The 2011 STI. Nuff' said.

By far, the smoothest, most pleasant, 9mm I ever had the pleasure to caress.
