Default Just had another interesting conversation with Philly PD

One of my clients is a Philly cop. I was asking him about some of the recent stories of people being stopped for lawful carry in Philly. He told me that they mainly stop people for unlawful carry in Philly when they are not carrying concealed. He then goes on to tell me that If you have a Philly conceal permit??? you can't take your firearm out of the city!!!!! I told him that it is a PA License to Cary. It allows one to carry Concealed or Openly in Philadelphia. Not only in and around Philly but actually the whole state and about 20 something other states as well.

He told me that I was mistaken and that it could get me in alot of trouble. I told him that not knowing the Laws that he is supposed to enforce can get him in a bunch of trouble.

I shared with him the pamphlet from here and he looked at it like his eyes were opened up. He actually thanked me for the info and asked me about hunting in Bucks County. The guy is under 30 and has been on the police force for less than 5 years but some of the things that he had thought were facts just blew me away....

Scary isn't it? I had a similar OC conversation with somebody and I said I would give them $5,000 if they can find "conceal" on their license.
If guns kill people, then pencils misspell words.

Growing up I always thought that cops were gun guys...

I always wanted to be a cop in Philly....

Now the only thing I see that I share with them is my love for donuts...

The first part about you getting into trouble is correct, even thogh you were not mistaken.

The second part about him getting into trouble, however, is incorrect. Which is why neither he, nor his supervsors, give a shit about what you have to say.

    Seems fair, right

I know what you are saying. Especially after you read stories like Vipers here, but I still have hope that all of this crap will eventually get cleaned up.

That won't happen until the Sheriff shows up at some cops' houses with a moving van and leaves with their furniture.

If nobody ever went to jail for shooting a cop, in which direction do you think the number of police shootings would go, up or down? No consequences, no reason to modify behavior.

This is absolutely insane. I'm avoiding Philly at all costs. I wonder what he thinks about police use of force? All this has been adding up for a very long time for me, and the sum is a big fat zero.

I've heard good cops call this type 5-20s. Five years experience, but they act like it's twenty.

What force are those good cops on? The few I've met that didn't act like JB's were state cops and they've got their share of ass hats too. I guess Steve is a good cop but I've never met him. The guys that check our guns at the Capital seem OK but they might also turn into Mr. Hyde when they hit the street.
The older I get, the better I used to be.
