Who is going out tonight and carrying?

So I was curious who is planning to go out tonight for New Year's Eve and planning to carry? I'm going to a friends house in the neighborhood with my family and there will be other families there nothing crazy. I was planning to only have a few beers, but I'm debating whether or not it is a good idea to still carry. I was wondering what were some of your thoughts on this. Thanks in advance!

This thread will likely be locked shortly, as there have been countless "drinking and carrying" threads. I would like to get my 2 cents in though. Having a drink doesn't remove your right to self defense, and in this state there is no law against carrying and consuming alcohol.

That being said, use your good judgement. If you have a predisposition to becoming aggressive or violent when you consume alcohol, you might not want to carry. Again, if you think you're going to get black out drunk, or so drunk you wouldn't be able to stop someone from taking your gun, then maybe you shouldn't carry.

I carry my gun every time I step out of my house, whether that days activities include having a couple drinks or not. Be safe, be smart, don't drink and drive, and make the right decisions so that our legislature won't change their mind about amending the UFA so that we can't carry and have a few beers at dinner.

I will be carrying as I always am. But, I might have a drink. I know people who think "a few" is drinking till they can't stand.

As long as you keep your head straight it shouldn't be a problem. I quit going out on " amateur night " years ago. Be safe, and Happy New Year.

I always go to an old High School friend's house and I always carry.

How long does it take you to go out and eat dinner at a restaurant? An hour, maybe a little more. My definition of a "few" is probably 2 beers over the course of dinner. I order a beer I enjoy the taste of and compliments the meal. That's the reason you don't see me drinking miller light or some such garbage that tastes like water. I don't drink crap that will eventually get me drunk but I don't like the taste of. If I want water, I'll order water.

I do believe that having a few should not remove your right to defend yourself. However I do feel before you choose to do this you take a good look at yourself and your personality when you have a few. Some people get crazy and shouldn't carry while drinking, you know yourself better than anyone so you shouldn't be asking us.
