And for the record, I don't think anyone misinformed you. They told you to hunt for Coyotes where you would find deer. If you are too "dense" to understand that and take it as misinformation, then good luck to you, cuz you do know you have to at least step into the woods to find coyotes most of the times right?

No offense, but you are entirely too angry to be posting on a public forum. If you can't take someones opinoin, or accidental misinterpretation of your OP then you have some personal qualms with people in general that you need to clear up.

Actually I saw the post about hunting where you would find deer to mean where you would HUNT deer as an active ( as in this season or the last or thereabouts) deer hunter. So I am with the OP there. But no need for all this arguing!

You might wanna try the river hills. Down near Holtwood, Peach Bottom, Delta, Brouge, etc. I know that their are coyote in the area, but not a whole lot.

-BTW was out archery last evening. I had 2 reds come in to about 10-15 yards about 20 mins apart from each other. I also heard about another 3-4 more fox barking. The k9 rut is coming up. Now you can call in pairs. Not to mention with the new snow we got they have to really hunt. It makes it easier to call them in.

The reds are acting weird down in my trapping area, not that many tracks, and nothing working the sets. This has happened before when there was a big mange outbreak, but that is not a factor at all this year. One property did have coyotes on it, but the other does not. Normally the reds are in pairs and there are alot of them moving all over the place, and I catch a bunch of them.

Yeah I am foxtrapperwoman. The reds seem to have dried up around here lately. Maybe the coyotes to the south ate the ones migrating from that direction, and the ones trying to come down through PA have to run the major trapper gauntlet and some coyotes. I know it can't be mange, the 17 reds I caught didn't have any mange at all, nor did the 3 others shot and gave me, except 1 had a teeny spot on 1 leg that may have been mange. The one year mange was really bad I only caught 7 foxes from 3 seperate locations and I think 4 of them had mange bad- 2 I had to toss completely, the other 2 I think it was the tail and part of the feet/legs affected only. I caught more muskrats that year than foxes, and muskrats are a bit scarce here.

Interesting. I would not have thought foxes prey apon muskrats.

Think maybe the mountain lions are eating the foxes?

    Another mountain lion comment? Geez...Haha

I had seen a red fox last time I went out archery hunting 2 weeks ago maybe. First one I have seen in a long time. It ran right across the small path I was walking down. I also had seen a coyote on opening weekend of rifle season. It was right before dark when I was walking out of the woods. I thought it was a stray dog at first, then I looked real close. Sure as heck wasn't the funny looking german sheapherd I thought it was initially.
