    Default High Point Handgun information

Just purchased a Beretta 9000s 9mm as a ccw and was considering purchasing a High Point .45 for my nightstand gun. I would appreciate information from High Point owners only, as to the quality, dependability, reliabiltiy of these guns. The only information I have recieved was from a guy at the gun shop in Harrisville who said they were very reliable? Would appreciate any info I could get.

I have a 9mm carbine and have never had a failure of any kind with it.

the 9000s should be suitable for your night stand gun as well as CCSW. lots of peple swear by hi-point guns and others bash them relentlessy. none of the gunshops, 6-7 in my area carry hi-point handguns which should tell you all you need to know about hi-point. they're cheap guns with frequent returns so a lot of gunshops don't want to be bothered with them. if all you can afford is a hi-point it's much better than having nothing but if you want a 45 save your money and buy a better quality weapon and let your 9000s be your CCW and HD gun. shot placement and the appropriate self defense ammo makes 9mm more than sufficient to put down any bad guy.

I would think the Bereta would work on your night stand as well but you asked about the Highpoint. I don't know about the pistols but I do have a carbine that I bought mainly for fun that has so far been reliable, is a blast to shoot and seems fairly well built.
Everyone bashes the pistols, they are ugly, they are cheap, they are heavy, they are not the most comfortable. However I've heard very few 1st hand complaints on reliability, I have heard more praise on their reliablity than complaints.
So if you want one look at facts not opinions, the opinions seem to outnumber the facts when it comes to these guns.

Most ignorant statement I've read today.

It tells you that close minded, redneck, know it all, gun snobs wont carry them because their MSRP is lower. The guns are awesome. I own two and would EASILY trust my life to them both. If someone says Hi Point is junk they may as well walk around with a sign that says I am an ignorant fool.
