What Is The Best Glass?
Alright, so I just bought a H&R Ultra Slug Hunter Deluxe last night in 20 Ga. Now im wondering what is the best glass i should get for it. the reason i bought it is because i heard its supposed to be a tack driver according to the sites i read (which i looked at basically all of them i could find). Most of the scopes that were mentioned on sites were Nikon SlugHunters w/ BDC, Nikon Prostaffs, and Leupold VX-II. Which one is the best and why do you think so? its also going to be 3-9x40 for magnification. Most shots will hopefully be under 150 yards and this is going to be used exclusively for whitetail deer. And if you have one that you think is better than feel free to tell me. Thanks! also can pro staffs hold up to the recoil of a 20ga slug ?
(also wheres a good place to get one at a decent price around the PGH area?)Last edited by BandanaBandit1; December 28th, 2010 at 07:12 PM.

I have three nikon prostaffs and I'm very happy with all of them. I think you'd be hard pressed to find something as good as a prostaff for the price.

I like using Leupold myself. All my deer rifles are outfitted with them. Might be a bit pricey though without much advantage over the Nikkon.

Re: What Is The Best Glass?
My son has a Centerpoint 4-16x50 on a Rem. 770 in 300 Win. mag., from WM. I borrowed it to use on a 30-30 lever gun for some hog culling. This scope has almost three hundred shots from an un braked 300 Winchester magnum. It worked so well that I went and bought one for myself. It is less than $70. I consider myself to be very picky when choosing accessories.

As for where to buy in Pittsburgh I'd head to Ace Sporting Goods in Washington right off Rt 19. And since your going that way you can head to Cabelas in WV for a larger selection but Ace will undersell Cabelas on most products anyday.
