Default Handguns are out of control

this will definitely bring the lolz along with the drywall to smash your head into.

In response to Sunday’s letter “Founders favored arms”: Yes, the Founding Fathers supported the right to keep and bear arms.

The important distinction here is that John Adams, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and pals supported the use of firearms when a firearm was a 5-foot musket that weighed nine pounds and took 50 seconds to reload. They had no concept of modern weapons. The claim that the writers of our Constitution would champion today’s handguns is unsupportable.

Further, Mary Bourne’s assertion that religious training is the key to preventing gun violence is practicable only if gun distributors ensure that each person they sell a gun to is ethically pure. There’s a better chance that Sidney Crosby will take up ice dancing. The Virginia Tech shooter was able to purchase two semiautomatic pistols despite having been declared mentally ill and having two prior convictions for stalking.

The gun industry is driven by securing not safety, but profit. This fact manifests itself in the obituaries. So, in the absence of a morally perfect society, what can we turn to? Gun control.

History proves gun control certainly works well.....for only tyranny against defenseless citizens.

If they are out of control I suggest a firmer grip on the firearm or maybe a lighter caliber ! This will give you better control.

The author fails to recognize that the Founders expressed that it preferred the citizenry have access to the standard weapons of the military. It translates well to today's arms just fine.

George Washington would have totally carried a Glock. I see Jefferson as more of a Sig guy, and if Ben Franklin had anything to say about it... I'm thinking SBS Saiga 12.

Madison would have been a serious XDm guy and I think Patrick Henry would have loved his AR or maybe even an M1A.
