Do you have a link for this event. I know a bunch of old guys that belong to a group called "Survivors of the Battle of the Bulge" that may be interested.

Re: J.C. GARAND/BATTLE of the BULGE SHOOT
Here's a link to the club website(run by a member not the club)
I don't think it's updated though;

We are not re-enactors, we like to shoot WWII rifles.
If anyone wants to come in period uniforms you are welcome to, 2 years ago we had a guy(1) in a German WWII uniform, however most will be in "everyday attire"(read warm clothing).
We call it our Battle of the Bulge Shoot because it's usually very cold, usually with snow on the ground, and we shoot in any weather.
Note: there are no indoor facilities at this range, there is an outhouse.
edit; you can also P.M. me for more info.Last edited by GUNGUY45; December 23rd, 2010 at 07:32 AM. Reason: additional info.

Re: J.C. GARAND/BATTLE of the BULGE SHOOT
I'll be there, Pete. I shot in this the past two years, first time with a club Garand, last year with my M/N 91/30. First year was about 15 degrees, last year was in the low thirties, and raining the whole time. Still, it is a fun, low pressure match. I enjoyed it. I've been practicing every weekend with the 91/30, so I hope to shoot better than last year.

Re: J.C. GARAND/BATTLE of the BULGE SHOOT
What is the cost to use a club gun and also the cost of the shoot?

Re: J.C. GARAND/BATTLE of the BULGE SHOOT
The shoot is $10.00, the cost of the ammo is 50 cents/round(I'll confirm that tonight) I think it's a 50 (55 with sighters) round match. Cost of ammo + Match $37.50.
No cost to use a Club Rifle, that's why we have them.
We have a Club meeting tonight, I'll confirm all of the above info, as long as the Match Director is there.
EDIT TO UPDATE; Looks like I was correct, 50 cents/rd. & 55 rds.
That's what the CMP charges for the ammo, so there's no markup.Last edited by GUNGUY45; January 7th, 2011 at 06:56 AM.

I'm interested in the Garand shoot, as well as possibly joining the club. What's your longest current rifle range?

Re: J.C. GARAND/BATTLE of the BULGE SHOOT
Me and a friend will be there for this shoot. I think he said we're representing England with Enfield rifles, LoL.. He's loaning me one to use for my first time.
Thanks for updating the info on the round count.
Hamburg.. When I was there in October for a Course of Fire, they had 2 pistol ranges and the 200 yard rifle range at the Pine grove site.
There is another range about 10mins away. I haven't been in that one, but they said it was undeveloped, Maybe a couple benches there and a backstop. You needed to basically bring everything, targets, stands etc. I can't confirm, but he said it might of been up to 300yard there. Last I heard there was some mining going on, on the property and there might of been an issue with shooting there now..
Guess we'll find out for sure in a couple weeks. The Oct Course of Fire was my first time shooting. Very nice and fun bunch of people. Even if I miss all the shots this time again.. I'm sure it'll still be fun .. I'll be joining at this event.
