    Sticking this thread.

    Folks,
As has been said numerous times since the veto of HB1926, this bill is not going to be as easy to get passed as some believe simply because the Republicans control the government. In fact, that could possibly make it harder, as the leadership now knows they have nothing to fear. We need to start applying the pressure now to make them act, and to make them realize that we're STILL serious about this legislation.

We need to get started on this ASAP, so everyone please find some time to write your incoming Reps and Senators, and ask them to sign on as co-sponsors of this legislation.

while there at the capitol we will be going after Co sponsors for all of our pro gun bills that reps will be introducing.
    Everyone note:

Wanted to give clarification of Jan 4, 2010 of HBG event There is going to be a big swearing in ceremony with their family and supporters when they promises to support, uphold, defend and OBEY the Constitutions (both states and federal) then afterwards going to be a party and photo OPs.

So it’s NOT going to be a hard core activist lobbying event that day at ALL, just Casual talking at most with the Reps.

Now you can still go and bend your senator or house Reps ear about such thing as lost or stolen, so called Florida loophole and other failed gun control attempts in a casual setting, just be respectful of the intent of this days purpose and keep it brief & Not intense save that for a lobbying day.

The only official mission we were / are still discussing about doing, was walking around the capital and hand delivering written request to office staff asking the Reps to sign on as a castle doctrine sponsors (if they haven’t already) and ask to give this priority one this session in passage.

We also could go just snail mail these letters, but hand delivery always makes it seem more important and it’s always nice to talk with staffers when passing them out to make a postive contact.

So NO official lobbying is going to happen that day at least not by US.

One of the unscheduled, unofficial goals for the day.
Maybe IF possible talk to leadership in both houses (parties) and key committee chair Reps to see about moving castle doctrine proposal to the FIRST ORDER of business and out of those committees.

As castle doctrine already been discussed, deliberated and voted on, in open session and but for a Veto of the governor would be enacted into law. We have already reached the final form for this proposal this Fall, thus in Jan, this legislation is ready to go on the fast track to being passed.

Hope this clarification of the Jan 4 2010 event was helpful, if you never been to one of these events you will find it interesting just ask your Rep for an invitation to go, they like having supporters attend.

Some people need to be reminded that this is part of what they are swearing to support, uphold, defend and OBEY along with signing their name that they will do the same.

Constitution of the United States of America Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

CONSTITUTION OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA

Article 1 DECLARATION OF RIGHTS Right to Bear Arms Section 21.

The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.
I am not above mentioning these to some Reps that always are lobbying for more gun control just to make them feel "a little Uncomfortable".

As most proposed gun control, directly violate these clauses intent and orginal meaning.

As far I am concerned people that violate their oaths to office is like cheating on their spouses, lying under oath in court, they can't be trusted because they have no honor to do the right thing or keep their word. If those are not acceptable, why should it be ok as a elected official to violate their Constitutional oaths? really why should they get a pass for anything they think is really good cause just so they can wipe their feet on the Constitution and their word.

As this Oath is the Only job requirement they promise and then sign in wrtting to do as a legislator, If they refuse to do either they can't hold any office, so its important and not something they just have to do to get the good stuff, is unacceptable.

Violation of their oaths could lead to unintended consequences in the future for some, so reminding them from to time is helping them to do the right thing
IF nothing else they should at least read the Constitution and have a working understanding to know what they promised to do

    Welcome to the forums BTW

Just Hoping for luck is not going to get this done.

We all must take up this burden and unpleasant task.
Freedom isn’t Free someone got to pay the bill

Do our part to contact the Reps to show that it matters to US

WE stand at a cross roads as a nation / state, a transition point on which path we want to take in the future.

Taking back over freedom, correcting the UFA repealing or re wording the parts we don’t like or just letting them stand as are.

You all have a choice and a voice on where you want this to go.

    OR

By your silent consent let the UFA stand as most got passed with our silent consent or not doing our part (for whatever reason) to oppose the questioning of rights by the state.

    Lessons from history
Back in the early 1990’s like some of you were I was one of the 10,000 plus that stood on the HBG steps on Flag day holding our signs and flags saying no more gun control, and just hope someone that mattered saw them or that the media would send our message to elected officials. They didn’t, that day after we left the steps of the capital they passed another gun control law in PA by a majority vote.

    WHY?

Although we had one of the largest rallies attended, that anyone could remember for decades going back in the past very, very few actually attending spoke to the any of the Reps, we all were counting on a sign or the media to get our message to the Reps, well it didn’t then, it doesn’t work any better today despite some people opinions to the contrary.

So we formulated a new strategy that would worked in a way to get individuals directly involved in the political process, use their knowledge to educate the Reps in person.

This effort has taken hundreds of thousands of hours and many years of all volunteers work before we could come back and do what would work.

Knowing how hard it is to get gun owners, independant, free willing spirts organized to do anything is like stacking marble on a boat in a hurricane or herding cat together.

Hence the second amendment is second to none rallies and interactive lobbying event was born. So we can get gun owners to the capital and teach them how to talk go talk with the Reps each effort building on the success of the last one. Just waiting and forcing the effort for a chance that we will have in the 2011-2012 session to change the equation.

It took 35 years for the freedom of choice on the motorcycle helmet law to be repealed, it took much more work and effort than it would have taken to stop it had people chosen to use their voices at time of enactment to stop this feel good law.

It’s always takes more effort and work to recover something that was lost in time, than to keep your rights when they are / were under attack, we have to decide to do our part to get our freedoms and rights back or we have no one to blame except ourselves.

The real enemy of freedom is the imagine that is looking back from the mirror because we haven’t done our part on our watch to defend our rights.

Far too many people Want someone elected to office to ride the whitehorse and save you or to stick their necks out political, to do something unpleasant task that we are not willing to do support or do for our selves?

This even applies to many only giving their hard earned money to some big name national group to hopifully fight for your rights.

Why do so many expect someone to give a higher value than you personally do?

IF you don’t care enough to tireless fight for your freedoms and rights don’t ever expect someone elected to office to risk more than you are personally willing to do.

Still some elected to office do risk much, because they are just people like us that decided to make a difference by running for office to fight for the future.

We have a whole lot of other proposed legislation planned (in the works) for this session to correct the UFA in lots of areas.

    keep this in mind
Little help, only little technical’s changes are possible, lots of you giving you time and effort in a BIG WAY to support the causes you are so passionate then big changes now become possible.

By your actions and deeds you give “a value” to what you hold so dear and are willing to fight for. Against a dedicated, passionate person like many of you are and with a never willing to give in personality in the fight, no mercenary or paid lobbyist can beat us, no amount of money thrown at goal will prevail from the top down, if you are always willing to fight for and support the Cause when the word go out to act.

If your rights matter to you, you too can join in the A-Team (A=Activism) and do your part to give the freedoms we enjoyed growing up to the next generations of Americans to enjoy.

It’s our watch now, were you get to choose the path we take, as many of you lots of big dollar foundation / rich people money is being spend in and poured into the keystone state to turn the tide back for the anti-gunners for the north eastern united States.

As long as you are willing to fight for them and play “wack a mole” any place they raise their heads up to stop them, we will be able to balance the scales by our sheer numbers of active volunteer people against the few highly paid mercenary forces they have to act as change agents. These paid mercs also wouldn’t do what they to try to take our rights away without being compensated in some form for their efforts unlike of US that fight on principal and fund everything with our own wallets, give up our time from work / family.

Keep reading the law and politics section on PAFOA
We will be posting other proposed legislation that we need your help in getting passed and how you too can make a difference to become part of the A-Team and even a team leader if you wish. (see upcoming events for the team leadership training program)

No one can do everything, still all of US can do something to support or rights by making phone calls, sending faxes and sending emails to support efforts like castle doctrine when you help is requested as in this example here.
Some can also serve in the silent service by doing research, help writing positions papers providing back channel inconvenient documents that come across your desk sent by snail mail with no return address or whatever method you can help the cause out. Others do it by setting up meeting with groups of people such as your gun club to make a group presentation at so they understand what they can do to fight for our rights. Getting the sheer numbers of gun owners in PA in the fight is how we can change the equation in HBG and all over PA. this is the key that we all must work to turn in order to preserve our rights and reclaim them.

Several anti-gunners were removed in the last election cycle as it has already caused a shift in the political make up of HBG that was noticed, this year we got a new governor (maybe not pro gun enough for some of you, sure better than anyone we have had in recent memory) and we real opportunity to take some of what was lost in the past, IF you chose to personally get involved and support the effort with your actions (notice didn’t say cash).

IF WE all can work on things we can agree need to get fixed we can get lots of this done and many other thing changed for the better, you all just have to choose if you want to do your part or not to support the cause with direct action.

I don't think there is a number for the new bill yet. I think there is work being done to try to get the bill on the schedule earlier, in which case the Bill number will be lower.

Last I checked they were actually trying to have it submitted and assigned the same number, i.e. HB40.
