Sure if you want to use those ugly tapco or other plastic mags. if your talking real mags IE: AK47 mags again yes its possible with the right guy doing the work and the right amount of cash to pay him.it would be alot more than the rifle costs. Go buy one of the SKS models already set up for detachable mags.Better off money wise.

yes you can change it out. there are youtube videos on how to do it. Ive done it to mine, i much rather have it changed have my sks take sks mags. the sks's that can take ak mags are usually a little more salty in price. i have 6 20rd tapco mags and all them work great, the only problem is it would be nice if tapco could make a clear mag or a window to see how many rds you have left.

There used to be a kit available online that used an adapter plate to convert over to AK mags...also some minor stock reworking but I haven't seen them for a while. If you want high cap...just get an AK! You'll be happier in the end!

    ^^^^^ This.

Only $150 extra for an AK, which you will love.

Well if you already have the SKS, and want to continue it's flawless function and better accuracy over the AK, with a few more rounds, I say got with the Tapco 20 rd magazines. They are by far the best available for the SKS.
