Had a terrific afternoon with a friend
Took an older friend to the range for a while. He and I shot for a little while and then back to his house for coffee. We spent a few hours talking about his time as a Lower Makefield police officer in the 60's and 70's. He showed me all the weapons he used to carry. It was a trip back in time. His wife recently went into an assisted living home, and he visits several times a day. He is living alone now so I like to check in on him.
Today is his wife's birthday so I left as he was beginning to get dinner ready to take for her tonight. I think it meant a lot to him. He is a very skilled wood worker so we are planning to fit a new stock to my sporterized mauser.

Re: Had a terrific afternoon with a friend
It's nice to spend time with old friends.
I enjoy sitting with my girlfriends grandfather and listening to him tell stories about the old days growing up in Malvern. I would go there to work on his house and end up sitting for hours just talking. He's in an assisted living home now in NJ but we are trying our best to buy a house real soon; I want him to come and live with us, I really enjoy his company.
