    I went to: http://www.independencevisitorcenter.com/about

the other day and saw a nice sign.

IT IS UNLAWFUL TO CARRY A FIREARM IN A FEDERAL BLDG....BLAH BLAH BLAH....

    .....

Since when does this bldg constitute a FEDERAL BLDG????

    from their website:

"The Independence Visitor Center Corporation is a Pennsylvania non-profit, 501(c)3 organization which operates in cooperation with the efforts of the National Park Service, the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation, Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, the City of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. ?

The facility is part of the Independence National Historical Park of the National Park Service and NPS employees normally work there. Same with the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Valley Forge visitors center. I suspect that the "Independence Visitor Center Corporation" is the volunteer organization that staffs some of the exhibits, etc.

    Q. Can I take a firearm anywhere I go in the park?
    A. No. Federal law prohibits firearms in "federal facilities," which are generally defined as federally-owned or -leased buildings where federal employees work on a regular basis. Buildings that meet this definition will have signs posted at public entrances noting the prohibition on firearms.
