I got pulled over last week for not stopping long enough at a stop sign the new officer in my little township asked me if i had a loaded weapon in my car i said no forgetting that it was in my gymbag in the back seat and not the console were i keep it all week, i got into it with the officer over his saying i pulled out a second to early he made me get out of car but did not search at that time i seen the bag and remembered I did not bring bag in the house and still had gun with me, what could have happened if he searched and found it i have had a carry permit for over 20 years with no problems

Welcome to the forum! Stick around, you'll learn a lot.
I'm sure others will have more to add, but for the future:
1. Don't talk back to the officer. Take the ticket and fight it later.
2. Don't consent to any searches.
3. You can always remain silent.

The cop prob would've harassed you. But legally, I don't think there's anything he could've done. I often wonder that as well....."hmm, did I bring my gun or not"?

Re: New member
I'm not an expert by any means, but IMHO you could get in trouble for that. You have a right to remain silent, not a right to lie to the officer. I'm sure that from the officers perspective that would have been considered a lie. What the officer could have done about it i don't know, but in the future either remain silent, or tell the truth. (I'm not meaning to say that you lied intentionally, but I can almost guarantee that's how the cop would see it)

Re: New member
We've discussed this a lot previously. I think the general consensus was that it's probably not a good idea, but it's not necessarily illegal. The cop may think it is though.
This was one of them where it was discussed:
http://forum.pafoa.org/pennsylvania-...-firearms.html
In there you'll find a bunch of the statutes that deal with lying to the police.
Edit: Here's another one, similar subject: http://forum.pafoa.org/concealed-ope...s-vehicle.html
