    Default new .308 range report

Sunday morning I took my new Savage EDGE .308 out to sight it in before the big day. I have it topped off with an awesome 4-12x40mm Redfield Revolution Accu-Range recticle.

All I can say IS WOW WOW WOW!!!

The Pic will speak for itself, but I was amazed at how accurate this "budget" rifle is. I picked it up for $367 plus tax. I think the scope costs almost as much as the rifle... lol

Anyway, I have 5 targets with similar groups. The largest was as big as a SKOAL can at 225 yards. The best group (in pic below) was at 150 yards. This gun will definitely shoot better than I can.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that these are all 3-shot groups.

Awesome! I'm glad to hear that you're pleased with the rifle and the scope. I think for the price, it's really hard to beat the setup. It's THE budget setup to get, and still have quality and dependability. That's some fine shooting on your part as well. It looks like the rifle can shoot, and you can too. I don't think you'll have any problems killing a deer, now you just have to see one. Best of luck and keep us posted.

I own two Savage rifles and have always been impressed at the quality and affordability of the Savage brand. In my mind firearms should be as expensive as the average shooter can afford, and Savage keeps the bulk of their products in that bracket. I can't say I've been disappointed by a Savage yet, good choice.

Very cool, i picked up a savage in 223 two week ago. What a fun rifle, was able to shoot three rds in the 10 ring of 25yd pistol target at 100 yards. No need for a quarter you can cover with a dime . I really want to find a range to stretch her legs some.

Good shootin'! Gotta love the new Savage.

My 10FP .308 and I have flat out embarrassed some big talking bull-shooters with rifles costing as much as 10 times as much as I have into this rig.

    I don't speak English , I talk American!
