Probably because when you're standing at the firing line you are shooting at a more downward angle. Just go to the range and see all of the rocks all over the back of the berm. I'm not purposely shooting at the BOTTOM of the berm. Maybe I should have worded it better for you to understand. The lower half of the berm?

My best range time has always been inclement weather. Always empty and nice there

If it's ain't raining, it's not training. But yeah lighting is bad.

Just got in from my first visit to this range. I set up shop at 1 of the 50 yard benches and shot revolver to chronograph some hand loads.
    Nice range!
The backers were in good condition, grass recently cut and very little brass under foot. And not busy at all.
The 10 & 25 yard stations had some shooters, but no one on the 50/100 side. One family from NJ came by later and they were well behaved.

    A nice morning.

And it's posted to be closed on 07/11/2016!

PA Game Commission web site just mentions 07/11->

And the range is posted closed 07/11. I hope it's only one day. Archbald has been closed almost a month now, and the Sweet Valley range is an hour away. Haven't looked at other Pocono ranges yet.
