Went out today, not to bad and it wasn't cold. Had my son shoot our new toy. Plenty of friendly folks no gang bangers.

Re: Tobyhanna SGL Range Reports
Oh Yes !,Went to the range today, hoping for a break from the rain,Saw a sight so unreal,I took pictures of this guy !.Holding aTaurus PT 92 in one hand, the other hand an Umbrella fully opened shooting at his wet rain soaked targets ! The unreal happened when he started to drop a spent magazine fumbling with both hands with gun & Umbrella, proceeded to load full mag, dropped slide, dropped gun i mud, picks it up looks around to see how many saw what he just did,did not check the gun for debris and started to have FTFs and FTEs started to fumble with umbrella and gun and dropped mag all at once and decided I saw enough and did not want to be a causualty, got the hell out of there and notified WCO License plate ,pictures video and identity of this shooter.

Re: Tobyhanna SGL Range Reports
why would you report the guy? i am sure a WCO is not going to give a damn about some guy shooting with an umbrella.

Stopped there on the 19th. Ran 2 mags and spoke with a gentleman who I believe was teaching his wife how to use the AK he brought. All in all, a decent day.

Re: Tobyhanna SGL Range Reports
Hello everyone I am brand new to the forum. I live in the stroudsburg area and have been looking for an outdoor range to shoot at in the area. I have been shootingat pocono pistol and at friends housesnthat have the land to do so for the last year, and I have a few questions if anyone can help me out. My father who does not shoot but works at tobyhanna army depot and has been conversing with co-workers about the Toby range, anyway my questions are, is it a free range if not what is the price?? Do you have to become a member? Is it a safe range? And any basic infornmation anyone would what to know before going to a new range. I would really appreciate any infornmation out there. Thanks for all your help and shoot straight.

Re: Tobyhanna SGL Range Reports
it's safe when there are responsible people there.
there is a fee, it's been discussed.
http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal...=937842&mode=2
that should be a link, read all the info/regulations and ask if you have any other questions.
search on these topics, there are even GPS coordinates floating around pointing the location out clearly.
dress warm, it's windy, and it's all BYOS (bring your own shit) they provide benches and backstops.
Edit: don't forget to check/post here when you head out, i personally try to throw a heads up when i go. meet fellow PAFOAers. There is no way to make it out alive...
