18 Pa.C.S. § 6105: Persons not to possess
Hello everyone, I have a question regarding section "18 Pa.C.S. § 6105: Persons not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell or transfer firearms"
Section (c)- (3) A person who has been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance as provided in 75 Pa.C.S. § 3802 (relating to driving under influence of alcohol or controlled substance) or the former 75 Pa.C.S. § 3731, on three or more separate occasions within a five-year period. For the purposes of this paragraph only, the prohibition of subsection (a) shall only apply to transfers or purchases of firearms after the third conviction.
Now my question. Can someone who had 3 DUI's within a "8 year period" still purchase guns and maintain their concealed weapons license?
The last part that refers back to section (a) is where it gets confusing and unclear. Can someone please clarify?
Thank you

Re: 18 Pa.C.S. § 6105: Persons not to possess
Basically, the person would not be able to purchase or transfer any more guns than they already had at the time of the third conviction in a five year span.
At least that's how I read it.
Also I believe the LTCF reqs are more stringent and thus the person in the 3 in 8 example while not being disqualified to purchase, would probably be denied the LTCF...
