    Default Fully automatic machine guns?

    Can I buy one?
    Can I own one?
    Can I make one?

I really want to know and am interested. My dad said it is against the law to own a fully automatic weapon. Is this True? Can someone quote the law? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you much!

It is against federal law to manufacture or import machine guns. Machine guns registered with the federal government before 1986 can be possessed and transferred subject to the terms of the National Firearms Act.

. . . and State and Local laws as applicable.

For example: Machine gun ownership is permitted in PA, but is illegal in NY (among other states).

I'm sure this is the number 1 reason why most people don't own machine guns. It's a hassle and expensive.

If you don't want to buy a full auto for the price of a sports car but still want the fun, I suggest learning the fine art of bump firing semi autos.

Go to YouTube, do a search for "Knob Creek" and ask your father how this is possible.
