Re: Good deal or Not on DD Mid-Lenght Upper Package.
I would say it's a GOOD deal, because you get a Tier 1 rifle upper, ALL the bells & whistles, and all it needs is to be snapped onto a lower & you're GTG.
Can you buy a Shrubmaster CHEAPER? Yep - just like you can get a Yugo cheaper than a new Mustang GT.
Consider the performance abilities of each, and if money is no object, then the choice becomes clear.

Re: Good deal or Not on DD Mid-Lenght Upper Package.
Is the 16" mid length the way to go or should I be looking at a pinned 14.5 I was thinking about getting a suppressor at some later date so I am unsure about getting something pinned if I do not end up with that suppressor. Is there really any advantages or disadvantages with a 16" mid over a 14.5 pinned mid?

Re: Good deal or Not on DD Mid-Lenght Upper Package.
The suppressor you choose will dictate the muzzle device, but the length is the big issue. I have a friend who is going to pin a QD flash-hider on a 14.5" barrel, but that is for the shortest OAL with a can attached.
If it were me, I would not worry too terribly much, I would prefer the 16" unpinned, but I am doing an SBR as well...Jeff Cooper was a huge supporter of gun games, when he was winning them at least...
