Cool Re: Good deal or Not on DD Mid-Lenght Upper Package.

I would say it's a GOOD deal, because you get a Tier 1 rifle upper, ALL the bells & whistles, and all it needs is to be snapped onto a lower & you're GTG.

Can you buy a Shrubmaster CHEAPER? Yep - just like you can get a Yugo cheaper than a new Mustang GT.

Consider the performance abilities of each, and if money is no object, then the choice becomes clear.

Is the 16" mid length the way to go or should I be looking at a pinned 14.5 I was thinking about getting a suppressor at some later date so I am unsure about getting something pinned if I do not end up with that suppressor. Is there really any advantages or disadvantages with a 16" mid over a 14.5 pinned mid?

The suppressor you choose will dictate the muzzle device, but the length is the big issue. I have a friend who is going to pin a QD flash-hider on a 14.5" barrel, but that is for the shortest OAL with a can attached.

If it were me, I would not worry too terribly much, I would prefer the 16" unpinned, but I am doing an SBR as well...
