Default "Benny Action" EB Sunderhaus Rifle

I have always been attracted to shiny objects--especially those that go bang. Some years ago I came across what I thought was a 37 Remington but it turned out to be a homemade rifle. I since discovered these rifles were made in Ohio for competition and set some records at Camp Perry. This one has a 3/1948 date on it. The trigger is adjustable and it has an Eric Johnson barrel. I have found out some history about these rifles but I am really interested to find out if you folks have any background on these rifles. All responses are much appreciated. Thanks!

Oh, here is a 5-shot group from 50 yards from a hand-built rifle made in 1948, how about 0.106"!!.......

I did just find out a little more about the Bennys. I just got this from a gentleman whose handle is "40EZXs":

I had a Benny Rifle shot great scores with it. Benny Action #79.Benny made about 83 actions. Made RH & LH actions. His shop was on the south end of Creston Ohio on Ohio Route 3. His Benny Action won the Civ.National Championship three or four times. He always was at Camp Perry,Creston Ohio being about an hour away.

Benny was a great guy. His card read:

    ----------------
    Been To Benny's
    Going Back
    Happy Jane Happy Jack.

I received a PM about the Eric Johnson barrel. It happens that I have a second rifle, a BSA Martini, also with a Johnson barrel. It was build in 1960 by Eric Johnson.

    It too is a shooter.
