I would like to thank Ron Boocks for serving the summons on the Governor, Attorney General, and the Secretary of the Commonwealth for the National “Clean Elections” Lawsuit on 20 November 2007.
Attached is a picture of Ron's service to Fast Eddie himself right before he went into the Pennsylvania House Judiciary Committee to try to push through HB-18, HB-22, and HB-29 and take away more of our firearms rights.
I would also like to thank Kim Stofer, All the members of FOAC, The Allegheny County Sportsmen's League, and everyone that went to Harrisburg for arrainging the service and making firearm owners displeasure known on these bills.

Why is it that we want to go back to pain in the ass paper ballots? My local area are using those "fill in the circle" scantron things. I hate them. I'd much rather see a touch-screen. (Assuming, of course, we can trust "the gov't" to NOT fix the elections, and let the machines function properly, reporting everyone's vote, but paper ballots can get "lost", too, so I don't see where this is any different.)

Trusting the Gov't is a big issue with the touchscreens. But it's by far not the only concern.

I've seen these machines hacked. In theory, some Ahole could go into a polling place, compromise a machine and upset the election for that area.

This is a very real concern for black voters in certain areas of Ohio... Consider the last election where there were far fewer machines and even less operable machines in black voting areas.

While any one with any affiliation could waltz in an compromise a few of these machines, a gov't operative could do the same thing. An employee or operative of the company could do it. Rigging elections has seemed to be a pretty good money-maker for these companies in the last two elections...

If that isn't bad enough. There's nothing stopping these election committee workers from compromising the Flash-based drives on these machines after the vote.

There's just way too many ways to error with these machines. IMO, there should always be some form of physical "leftover" to ensure you that your vote will be tallied. While these can always be tossed out after the fact, it's far harder to do than putting a magnet against a flash-based drive. Just look back to Florida in '00 when people were found digging up ballots cast earlier in the day. The committee workers just dumped them in a dumpster out back. Of course, nothing came of this. Then again in '04 in Ohio when a court ordered records to be preserved.... Well, they weren't and nothing has come of that either...

There MUST be a physical leftover in order to perform a count of physical ballots. period. There's no way around that for many many many years yet.
