American Arms & Ammunition - Colmar, PA
This is a really neat small shop with a terrific stock of new and used arms and supplies. I have made several purchases there including a CZ rifle, a scope, rings, lots of ammo and cleaning supplies. I have also used them as a transfer FFL for a face-to-face pistol transaction ($35).
When I purchased the rifle, I first searched the internet for "the best deal" I could find (Bud's Gunshop). I then called American Arms to inquire what their charge was for receiving a new rifle from an Internet FFL dealer and transferring it to me ($35). Then Fred asked if he could quote on selling me the rifle locally - he matched dollars with my best deal, ordered the piece and I had it in three days!
EVERY transaction there has been completely satisfactory. Their prices have been terrific, their information accurate and their ammo selection excellent. The place is manned by knowledgable, courteous people who treat a customer like a friend and an important person. You'll even get a friendly greeting from the shop "guard dog" when she is in residence!

Agreed, these guys are lifelong shooters who run a gun shop, not people who happen to be selling firearms as this year's job.
They have a genuine interest in guns themselves, they are (successfully) looking to make permanent customers instead of squeezing the last dollar from everybody once, and they don't give off that "you ain't a cop, is ya?" vibe that a lot of gun shops radiate (that feeling from some other shops that they're waiting for you to leave so they can finish the cockfighting in the basement, then move the 3 keys of coke into the van.)
It's the sort of gun shop where you wouldn't be embarrassed to take the wife or kids.

I bought two guns from these guys. Both were really good prices. Very helpful and huge inventory for such a small shop.

they rippped me off about 3 years ago when they sold me a NIB SIG 556 rifle for $1275 OTD and other guns shops in the area were selling the same gun for 1450 and up. they even had the nerve to buy me lunch when i came to the shop to pick up the gun. really nice shop, good prices and nice folks running it but it's a little far for me to drive especially when tanners and surplus city are much closer.

I absolutely love this shop and the people that work there. I'd sold my entire gun collection to them about 1.5 years ago and had since acquired more guns, most of which I got there. This is the kind of shop that you can go into and actually engage in conversation. Thanks guys for acting "human."

I bought a Para Ord P13 and a CZ75 from Rod. (I think that's his name).
The CZ went unbid on Gunbroker. Called Fred. He gave me one price.
Rod gave me one that was $75 lower than Fred's.
I picked the gun up the next day.
Been carrying it ever since!
Good shop; prices on used stuff are sorta salty, but they'll dicker.
