    Default 1st OC Today

Finally did it. Really, it was more of a practicality thing than anything else. A buddy and I were heading up to his cabin to do some scouting and it was so nice out I only wore a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. The sweatshirt would have only covered the top half of the holster anyway, so I said "WTF" and tucked my sweatshirt behind the holster. I wasn't out in public too much, but while at the Sheetz ordering subs for the trip, I saw a couple waiting for their food. I moved over in front of them to pick up the chips then turned around to go pay. As I was walking away from them, I hear her saying something...."mumbley mumbley gun..." to her husband. When I came back to wait at the pick up area, nothing was said and they got their food and left. Not sure if any employees saw it at all, or if they did they never said anything. Later in the evening on our way home, we stopped at another convenience store for some coffee. Again, not a word.

    Baby steps....LOL...

Wait a minute. So you mean to tell me that your gun did not climb out of it's holster, and give a child the epilepsy?

Swat teams didn't fall from helicopters with sam fisher goggles on?

    Liberating, isn't it?

Careful, once you find out how comfortable it is to OC, instead of CC, you will keep doing it.

When I first started, I was a little nervous. Now, I don't think twice.

Rep incoming for trying new things.
I'm so fast, I can bump fire a bolt action.

I've never had an issue in any Sheetz.

As to baby steps, you gotta roll with whatever you're comfortable doing. I think it's great every time I hear about another person going for OC, but not if you're going to have anxiety over it.

If there's anything that will unnerve people faster than a Man with A Gun... it's a NERVOUS man with a gun

I'm glad your day was uneventful, I hope they all are. On the chance you find yourself engaging in any more OC events in the future, planned or impromptu, may want to get prepared. Load up on some flyers, and possibly a voice recorder.

Congrats! There is nothing wrong with baby steps. You need to stay within your comfort zone.

Thanks everyone. I have to say, I wasn't as nervous as I thought I'd be and pretty much went about business as usual - as if nothing was amiss and I'd been doing it since I'd been born.

I did have flyers with me in my Jeep, but I do need to get a voice recorder.

It was much more comfortable than trying to CC, too.
