Silencer Questions
I'm thinking of buying an M&P45 which now comes with a threaded barrel and I'm thinking that i would also buy a can with it. Now my first question is will an osprey or a ti-rant thread right on to the barrel or will I need an adapter and secondly which can is the quietest out if there is a definite one?

Re: Silencer Questions
They will thread right on,The smith should be 5\8th threads. Go with the osprey. Its an awsome can for many reasons, one being better CS from Silencerco

Re: Silencer Questions
The ti-rant doesn't have to be indexed. Noise reduction is better in the tirant and it's from a proven and established company.

Re: Silencer Questions
You never give up. The silencerco doesnt need indexed either, after you put it on for the first time, its indexed for good. you would know this if you even saw one in person. Secondly the noise reduction is as close to = as they can be. As anyone who actually knows anything about cans, they have diffrent tones, your own hearing can even affect the perceived quietness of the can. Not to mention diffrent host, ammo, temp, altittude, humidity too name a few.
Silencer co is here to stay, you little AAC troll
PS The tirant was 1200 bucks until the osprey came out, and was found to be just as good if not better than the tirant. Then AAC lowered its price to compete with it, or lose big time.Last edited by forceinPA; November 10th, 2010 at 04:59 PM.

Re: Silencer Questions
save yourself some money and go with a YHM cobra m2. Half the price with the same db reduction!

Re: Silencer Questions
I didn't realize there was such a heated debate I was hoping there was a clear favorite ... Ooo well I like the overall look of the Osprey but I won't have to make this decision anytime soon

Re: Silencer Questions
Ive always liked the old 80s Tacoma, built like a little tank
Listen to a few cans if you can before you buy.
The new cans, Osprey and TiRant, are the new kids on the block for a reason.
Look at design, customer service, mounting options(multiple piston options for one can) Osprey45 can take Osprey 40 and 9mm pistons turning it into a 3 caliber can on a budget.
The TiRant can not accept the 40 or 9mm pistons.
