Help with the value of weapons
Below is a list of weapons I recently came across. Prior to getting them appraised I am hoping someone can give me a ballpark idea of the value. All weapons are functional. If the condition is fair this means cosmetic issues ie chipped stock or re blueing may be needed. Good condition = no issues.
Thank you in advace for your help.

Could always go on gunbroker and get a rough idea.

By chance, is your screenname missing a "t"?
Also, find a local and reputable gun shop. Most of them will give you an appraisal for a reasonable price, or free. Seeing what you have, instead of a few words on an Internet forum, makes all the difference.

Re: Help with the value of weapons
You have a bunch of crap. Since I'm a really nice guy I'll give you $100 for the lot and I'll even meet up with you at the FFL of your choice.
But seriously, your gonna have to research this deeper yourself. Gunbroker, a book listing values, a dealer, etc. For the most accurate appraisal take them to a shop. Call ahead and make an appointment if you want a shop to give you the time it deserves, and offer to pay them for the service. You have a need, he has the ability to satisfy that need.
BTW, I'm already interested in the Ruger Mk2. I can make an offer based on some info such as barrel length, barrel style (tapered, bull ), number of magazines it comes with, sights (adjustable or non-adjustable), NRA grade (if obtained). Without a NRA grade I'd be generous at saying 70-75% without seeing the gun. A 4" tapered non-adjustable with one mag at 90% will get you about $125(maybe) from a shop. Expect to hear $100 though. PM me once you find a price, maybe we can make a deal.Last edited by ErSwnn; November 8th, 2010 at 09:59 PM.

Re: Help with the value of weapons
Mostly paranoia, I suspect. Seems fairly common though, with people blacking out the serial on the pictures they post.
Probably the same reason people black out the license plate number when posting pictures of their vehicles, even though they drive around with their license plate visible to thousands of people each and every day.
When it comes to appraising the value of classic firearms, serial numbers can play into the value. So I can understand why they'd be posted."There are four boxes to use in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo. Use in that order."

Re: Help with the value of weapons
With the technology available today, whats to stop someone from printing off copies of, lets say an AR receiver and pasting your SN on it? Other than that its just plain unnecessary to post such unless your selling it to an individual who wishes to acquire the exact firearm you have shown them in pics.
The issue with LP#'s comes from the bike community. All you need is a friend in the DMV and you can find out where that 150K bike is parked. And the regular "Civillians" you drive past isint the issue, its the criminals. Whats the percentage of criminals you pass on the road VS the amount of criminals who could find your picture on line? You post it on the net, its out there for everyone to see basically forever.
If you seriously think this is wise and "others" suffer from paranoia feel free to post up your SS# along with your Birth name.

Re: Help with the value of weapons
As was already said, gunbroker is a good place to get rough ideas. Another similar site is gunsamerica.com. Here are a couple more sites that might help you out:
