That's wild! You are the guy that dated mine! You did that quite awhile ago. Didn't know you were that close to me.

Re: Harrington & Richardson Sportsman .22 Revolver
That serial number indicates 1st Model (the 'D' prefix in this case indicates 'Double Action'.) It is most likely a 3rd Variation made circa 1934 - it should have the firing pin mounted on the hammer and the cylinder release lever should be on the right side of the frame - just forward of the cylinder, have two patent dates on the "Safety" rimmed cylinder and the left side barrel stamping should simply read "H.&R. SPORTSMAN". Does that work?

Re: Harrington & Richardson 999 .22 Revolver
lemko,
You're welcome. Yes it is great to see the interest in these firearms growing - especially since I and the few other H&R collectors that I know have been considered to be outside of the "NORMAL" collectible market for so long. It's gratifying to be able to share some of this knowledge.
Thanks for thanking.Jim Hauff H&R Collector In memory of my friends Bill Goforth and Jim Ritchie.

Re: Harrington & Richardson 999 .22 Revolver
Gunlover,
'U' = 1958.
I've look at the pics you posted, it looks like a "standard" H&R SPORTSMAN from that time frame.
What makes you think it is a special edition?Jim Hauff H&R Collector In memory of my friends Bill Goforth and Jim Ritchie.
