Default Places to find criminal cases?

I have been looking for places that have major cases I could read, and unbiased statistics on the offenders. That would include time served, priors, parole time, orgional sentences. I can only seem to find stuff (mainly biased, too) about the crimes themselves, not what the criminal himself got, especially not time served and paroled vs original sentence. You guys seem to know all the right places to go, so I'm asking you

I keep hearing of cases where criminals get off easy on things that its damn proven has them as the killer/rapist. I'm an avid watch of forensic files (I know, its tv), and usually get pissed at the sentence. When I read stories in the paper or online the sentences are hardly a slap on the wrist for the crimes people commit. I look up statistics and even them seem to make things easy. Everything I'm seeing is portraying the criminal justice system as a joke. I'd love to read actual court summaries with the sentences and everything. I'm really, really getting fed up with all this stuff I'm seeing, especially reading almost every rape/murder case, the perp had priors and was on probation at the time of the arrest. That, or crucial case evidence is not allowed in court because of some retarded law/red tape. One case has been bugging the HELL out of me. I'm hoping its the minority, not the majority. I'm rather afraid it falls into the majority category, though.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Unfortunately Josh what you want to see and read is expensive.
There are many sites that lawyers subscribe to and read up on cases. They pay for that.
One I know of that is excellent is called Lexis Nexis. But you gotta pay for it.
    Ain't nothing free anymore.
Of course you can go to any courthouse in the nation and read anything you want. Its all public record.
    Then theres the "law library".
If you interested in a particular case or a particular person you can find that out too in the courthouse.
All cases no matter what they are, can be viewed by the public.
But don't expect to see it all.
You can try googling specific words and research from there. Sometimes you get lucky, but its time consuming. Or a famous criminal name. There are some cases on the internet because they were famous.
    Good luck!

Or just wait till you get to college. I know we had access to a bunch of databases and articles. Actually came in handy all the time. I'll drag out the old college ID later and see if it will let me log in. If so, it's all yours.
