Need scope setup for rem 700 aac-sd
I'm in need of a scope setup for my rifle. Also I need some help on what kind of base and rings to get. I'm looking at a millett trs-1. Not sure if I need 20moa base or reg base and what height rings high med or low. I only plan to shoot no more than 600yd. Most of the time at paper but will take it deer hunting also.

Re: Need scope setup for rem 700 aac-sd
I'd look at a LaRue base and mount. If that isn't for you the EGW bases are nice and not too expensive plus they are a PA company. Burris XTR rings are nice also. Height depends on base and scope being mounted. I have a falcon menace scope 4-14 FFP with a EGW 15 MOA base with low rings on my 700 SPS Tactical and it clears fine.

Re: Need scope setup for rem 700 aac-sd
You probably won't need a 20 MOA base to get to 600yds.
If you would like advise on scopes, mounts, rings etc... It would be nice to know what your budget is.
As far as the Millett TRS, I have heard more good than bad things about that scope. I would bet with 65 MOA total adjustment, you would be able to get to 600 yds with standard Weaver bases.
Hope this helps...When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

+1 for Burris XTR. The rings and the base. Are you going one piece or 2 piece??

Give Gamereaper one piece mounts a look.

Re: Need scope setup for rem 700 aac-sd
Looks good!! Did you get a chance to shoot it yet?
I'm going to be putting a Millett scope on my SPS Tactical (when it comes in the mail) and am gambling on the medium XTR rings. Hoping it will clear the barrel. I went with the "Buck Gold New Generation" in 4-16 x 56mm because I wanted the fine crosshair reticle and not a mil dot. I've heard the current Buck Gold series is the old TRS with the 1/4 MOA adjustments, not the newer 1/8 MOA clicks. Good luck. I'm sure a range report will be posted soon.... wink, wink.I don't watch shark week. Sharks watch FLICK week.
