(shakes head)
Thanks for reminding me why this is the best forum around!
OMG! I wanted to join just to scream at them for all of the absurd posts!
"Yeah, my friend's buddy's uncle was a cop in Texas who used to live near a truck driver who drove through PA and when he got his gun learner's permit, he took a class and the instructor told them that a 45 wasn't legal for OC because it was more powerful than the 9mm that the cops carry and if they even see you with 45 ammo, you're getting a beat-down and if an old lady sees it you can be busted for terrrism, cuz of the Patriot action, and with Bush in office, it's a REALLY big no-no to OC, even if you were allowed to, but you can. I think."
(But I'm your post whore, and it wouldn't be right if I stared wasting my posts elsewhere! )I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

You are allowed to carry in all but one airport in PA. The Pittsburgh airport is a no carry zone due to a county ordinance, not state law.Last edited by Penguini66; November 13th, 2007 at 09:05 AM.

Re: Pa Open Carry thread at other forum
that is correct. the allegheny county ordinace against carrying at the greater pittsburgh international airport is rendered null and void by the preemption clause in the UFA.
ufortunately, our wonderful sheriff mullen, the allegheny county police, the county executive, etc. all refuse to acknowledge this. they don't seem to think rule of law applies to them.
however, they haven't been stupid enough to actually arrest anyone for violating the ordinance yet. and, i doubt they ever will because they know it would get thrown out and then they could no longer pretend that their airport carry ban actually carries the weight of law.Last edited by LittleRedToyota; November 13th, 2007 at 12:08 PM.

I figured as much and think I remember reading the topic discussed here before. I was just hoping somebody would comment about it on sigfourm because I don't want to register at yet another forum.

I don't know if it's that they haven't been stupid enough to arrest someone...or if no one has had the balls to challenge what is sure to be an arrest. I definitely am not volunteering....knowing you are right will be no comfort while you are sitting in jail facing charges....

I don't have permission to share specific details publically just yet. He who was arrested is seeking legal council.
