SubCompact 9
Last year at the Valley Forge Gun Show I sold my PF9 to finance my M&P 9. Now almost a year later I really regret selling it and wish I would have just saved fir the M&P. Anyway I want a new SC 9 to carry and am thinking PF9 but I was wondering if there was another gun or guns in the same price range that were worth taking a look at. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: SubCompact 9
There aren't many options on the market for a subcompact 9. I'd either wait for the Sig P290 to go on sale, or settle for something just a little bigger, like an HK P2000SK or a Glock 26. You could always go for another Kahr PM9.

Re: SubCompact 9
I here what you're saying. I carry a glock 26 as my edc weapon which is a subcompact 9mm. However, I recently picked up a Kel tec pf9 for those situations when I need deep concealment. I must say i am impressed so far with this inexpensive little 9mm. I can see why you're rethinking whether selling it was wise. I'm still breaking it in. Only one failure to feed (with 147 gr american eagle) in close to 250 rounds. Not bad for what many people call a pos. Good news is you can buy another. I got mine at American Sport Shooting in Brodheadsville. I think Tanners has one too, its the grey grip though.
Now less Glock, more H&K :)

Re: SubCompact 9
I wouldnt be against buying something slightly used and I could spend a little more money then the $300 +- the Kel_tec goes for.

Re: SubCompact 9
If you decide to pick up another PF9 check out ktog.org and read their Kel Tec "Fluff and Buff" treatment. When I purchased mine I tore it down and thoroughly cleaned and checked every inch I could. I also use 147 grain American Eagle and have put about 550 rounds through it without a single problem.

Re: SubCompact 9
I'm guessing it out of the price range you mentioned but I have a PPS I absolutely love and it compares favorably size wise. If you can find one used maybe?

Re: SubCompact 9
i love my kt's including 2 pf9's. if you want something else that works well and is in the general neighborhood [somewhat bigger] try a ruger sr9c. i have a sr9 full size and it's very flat. the compact is also very nice that way. a used one shouldn't be too pricey.

Re: SubCompact 9
The PF9 has it's own little niche and it's hard to beat. CDNN is selling them for under $250 delivered. It may not be a glamourous gun but at that price point I think it's a great option.

Re: SubCompact 9
Little more expensive, but my choice of subcompact 9mm would be Kahr K-9
I had a M&P9C when I bought this gun. But I ended up liked it so much(And I LOVE M&P line of pistols), i let my M&P9C go once gun proved itself...
And being all steel gun, its MUCH easier to shoot then PF9
If you want something even smaller, then there is always Kahr PM9 as wellLast edited by Mity2; October 30th, 2010 at 10:28 PM.
