    Question NY State Rifle Restrictions

Want to take my AR to my friends estate up in NY.
I have an adjustable stock w/ 16" barrel. Can I take 30 rd mags w/ me?
    TIA

NY state has a mirror of the old Fed AW Ban, but NYs did not/will not expire

only PRE Sept 13th 1994 (preban) rifles can be brought into, or possessed in NY, if they have a detachable magazine, and more than ONE of the following

    folding or telescoping stock
    bayonet lug
    grenade launcher
threaded barrel capable of accepting a flash hider, or a flash hider
    pistolgrip

magazines over 10rds can be possessed or brought into NY if they were also made prior to Sept 13th 1994.

if you arent sure.. then dont.

In short, have a compensator on the end, no bayo lug, and an A2 stock.

and longer... that compensator better be welded or silver soldered on, if your gun has a threaded muzzle.

I am so glad that I left that place back in 1994. I thought that it was bad back then, it only got worse.

    Thanks guys.
It is sad that I cannot go up to his 65 acres w/ my AR. My friend is a bolt gun shooter and has created a great 400yrd range/backstop. I really wanted the freedom to run the AR hard from close in to the full extent of his range.
Sometimes I think PA sucks but when you put things to the test you realize how fortunate we are.

Yep, sometimes PA can suck but there is no way that I could own the various NFA toys that I have now, living in NY.
