    Default Villanova University

More bad news from a local university. Seems like this sort of thing has been in the news way more often than it should.

Radnor Township police and Villanova University security officials are investigating an incident on a campus parking lot in which several shots were fired early Sunday.

According to Villanova spokesperson Liz Kennedy Walsh the shooting incident took place around 2:30am following a Saturday night dance:

“Villanova public safety and Radnor police are investigating a report of several shots being fired in the main parking lot at the corner of Ithan and Lancaster Avenue. The incident happened after several fights broke out near the Connelly Center after a late night dance.”

Radnor police quickly responded, restored order and noted there were no injuries and no arrests. The gunman had fled. Dorms had were briefly secured but by daylight all normal campus activity had resumed. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident should call Radnor police.

Gun fire on a college campus?

    Shirley you must be mistaken.

Why, they've hung all sort of painted metal signs stating that it's a gun free zone, so it can't really have been a gun.

Exactly. Didn't happen. Couldn't have. The gun grabbers have already made sure of that.

What it actually is is a reminder to the Philly suburbs that they can't expect to just dump and contain all human garbage for the entire region in the city without ponying up some tax $$$ to deal with it. Suburbanites who don't want their tax money going toward the city to clean up crime, imprison offenders, and deal with poverty and crime prevention issues are definitly going to see more crime reach out and touch them from afar. There is no free lunch, even for quiet Villanova.

(this all assumes that the idiots shooting up the campus hail from my home town -- a reasonable assumption).
