Re: Any great Flea Markets in Monroe, Pike etc.
The state is building a 'modified' version of the Marshalls Creek Bypass, they started the bridge over the creek from a construction access on RT. 209...
There will be a turn off across from the snake farm but they are not going to build the 4 lane section w/ Wendy's in the middle and the cloverleaf for Rt 402 isn't gonna be...they don't know what to do w/ the little new section of Rt. 402 they built up on the hill above the flea market...I don't know if it is going to help traffic at all...
Now Fernwood w/ a casino would really foul things up!

I've also heard that after the flea marker closes most of the vendors are going to start setting up at Foxmoor Plaza and some of the other strip malls along 209, so now instead of 1 big flea market there will be a bunch of smaller ones at a few locations.
As for right now, the flea market in Marshall's Creek is a good place to bring people who wonder why we carry. The only thing worse than the attitude of most of the people shopping there is their smell. There are a few vendors there who have things worth selling, but most of it is just pure garbage. I've seen a few tables there with people selling things like cleaning supplies or other household items for more money than they cost at the supermarket down the road. And the guy in the middle building who sells the swords and old weapons has had the same overpriced items in his display case since I was in elementary school. I have to agree though that you can usually find some decent food there, but it's a risk I'd rather not take.

Re: Any great Flea Markets in Monroe, Pike etc.
Nshortino, good point you brought up, the few times i have been there i couldnt help noticing how sad and depressed everybody looked both sellers and buyers, i wonder why?
I went there one saturday trying to find a good long Machette to do some yard Work, all the Sword guy had was some overpriced knockoff "swords" wasted my time.
Yes i doubt the flea market moving will solve anything, the traffic system up there looks like it is based on the 1920's.
Too much neighborhoods and developments up that way for the roads system there.

If I didn't see it with my own eyes I wouldn't believe it. Are they working to make transplants feel at home with a circle? Dumbest thing I've seen in Pa.

Re: Any great Flea Markets in Monroe, Pike etc.
We have always had several alternate routes and seldom drive thru Marshalls Creek. Dad used to hunt for different ways riding around on his BMW and his favorite was to follow Rt 33 to Bartonsville, take Rt 611 south, Left on Wigwam Park Road, Left on Beacon Hill Rd to come out on Rt 191 just b/4 the bridge over the Broadheads. 191/447 north thru Analomick and veer off to the right and eventually come over Wood Dale rd. to Creek Rd just south of the cabin...
Several camp owners near us always come in from 191/447...
Rotary intersections are becoming the 'latest' new/old idea in roadway engineering. We visit college friends that live just outside Princeton. There are several new ones, just wide enough for one vehicle at a time with two entrances having yield signs...They are truly a modern NJ version of a Mexican Standoff........
Sounds like PENDOT's engineers have drunk the same Koolaid!

Yah these are the same idiots that Put in a traffic Signal in the middle of a 2 lane highway that got a couple of people killed earlier this year, and this has nothing to do with "the transplants" Stop Blaming "the transplants" for every stupid things that Pennsylvania does. Like putting in traffic lights on highways, or Charging for doe tags so the does can over breed and end up getting killed on the roads and sometimes causing fatal accidents like that i saw near allentown last friday night, yeah right "its the transplants"

Not to beat a dead horse but if martians landed here and it increased the population by 60% but increased the negatives (such as housing costs, taxes, crime, etc) by 80% what would your perspective be? It is what it is.
As far as highway engineers getting stupid........that's just modern day academia.
