Keep LTCF if I move to NJ?
I have a LTCF that was issued to me in Bucks county, and am moving to New Jersey in a few months. Am I able to keep my LTCF as a non- resident?

Re: Keep LTCF if I move to NJ?
per PSP:
A Pennsylvania license cannot be issued to a resident of another state who does not possess a current license or permit or similar document to carry a firearm issued by their home state if a license is provided for by the laws of that state, as published annually in the Federal Register by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms of the Department of the Treasury."
IANAL

18 PA CS ss 6109

A license shall not be issued to any of the following:
(ix) A resident of another state who does not possess a current license or permit or similar document to carry a firearm issued by that state if a license is provided for by the laws of that state, as published annually in the Federal Register by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms of the Department of the Treasury under 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(19) (relating to definitions).
(i) Revocation.--A license to carry firearms may be revoked by the issuing authority for good cause. A license to carry firearms shall be revoked by the issuing authority for any reason stated in subsection (e)(1) which occurs during the term of the permit.

Re: Keep LTCF if I move to NJ?
About 7 or 8 years ago, NJ ran a public outreach looking for a new state moto. One of the top contenders by popularity was:
New Jersey
Are you sure you want to do this?

Re: Keep LTCF if I move to NJ?
You'll be able to keep your Pa. LTCF if you move, you just won't be able to renew it until New Jersey gets sued into issuing licenses (don't hold your breath).
Of course, your LTCF will mean bupkus in New Jersey.

Re: Keep LTCF if I move to NJ?
I would think that your PA LTCF would still be valid for use in PA (and reciprocal/recognized states) after you move to NJ, as it is valid until expiration (or revocation) and it was originally issued while you were a PA resident.
Of course, as mentioned, you could not get it renewed, since you would be a resident of NJ when the renewal is due.
IANAL nor am I a LTCF issuing authority
