Default Disturbing Bryan Lentz Anti-Gun Ad During Phillies Game

Any one see the Bryan Lentz anti-gun propaganda commercial a few minutes ago during the Phillies game? They actually implied that there is a loophole in PA that allows criminals to obtain permits to legally walk around with concealed assault rifles.

It starts off showing an artist's rendition of an Uzi pistol while playing ominous music. The narrator then goes to say "This is a deadly assault rifle, its not used to hunt deer or duck. It's used to kill people and here in Pennsylvania a gun loophole allows convicted criminals to conceal carry weapons, even after they have been denied a local permit."

You've got to be kidding me, and stupid people are going to believe this because they saw it on TV so it must be true.

I really want to see this add, and then find out who's paying for it. Did either of you catch who the sponsor of the add was?

Edit: I want to find out so that FOAC can prepare a press release in response to it.

He is pretty proud of his CeaseFirePA endorsement:

    From his website:
Springfield, PA, October 22 – Bryan Lentz, the Democratic nominee for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, announced today that he would be endorsed by Pennsylvania’s leading illegal handgun violence prevention organization, CeaseFire PA on Monday at the Montgomery County Court House. Lentz and CeaseFirePA will be joined by concerned mothers from around the 7th District.

Lentz has led efforts in the state legislature to keep violent criminals from using a loophole in state law to legally carry concealed weapons in Pennsylvania. Lentz’s bill has won the support of law enforcement officials around the state, including the Pennsylvania State Police, the Pennsylvania Sheriff’s Association, and the superintendent of the Upper Darby Township Police Department.

It appears as thought he is targeting reciprocy, specifically the Florida LTCF permit.
"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

Don't recall off hand. I just did a quick scan back on the DVR, but either missed it or its farther back in the game then my DVR goes. If I see it again I'll post up the sponsor.

Okay, thanks for keeping an eye out. Based on your summary of it I can begin work on a draft of a press release.

Default More lies from the DNC about "Florida Loophole"

I just saw part of a commercial from the DNC, on behalf of Democrat Lentz and criticizing Republican Meehan; it starts with a picture of a beat-up Uzi SMG (which is when I kicked the sound on), and they went into "the Florida loophole" which "allows convicted criminals to carry concealed weapons" (which is why I posted this here).

There may be ambiguity about some aspects of the UFA, but there's no ambiguity about that point, except for the shameless liars in the DNC. Florida does the same criminal background check as PA, and if you're statutorily prohibited by a criminal conviction in PA, you won't be getting a Florida license. It's only the people denied a license by bureaucrats using the "character or reputation" loophole who need to ask Florida for permission to exercise their rights.

We need to clarify this point for anyone voting in the Lentz/Meehan contest. Whatever else you think about the candidates, Meehan is NOT enabling convicted criminals to carry concealed firearms by failing to close the non-existent Florida loophole; we have reciprocity, what the anti's are demanding is that we cease recognizing Florida licenses. Which would mean that Florida would stop recognizing ours (reciprocity requires 2-way recognition.)

You're not the only one to see it,

    http://forum.pafoa.org/general-2/115...lies-game.html

but you are the only one to catch who sponsored it.

I've notified Kim Stolfer of FOAC, I'm going to make sure we get a response to this. I'll going to try and contact the Meehan campaign now as well.

    Thanks for posting!

Yup, no problem. Compared to other anti-gun/violence messages in campaign commercials I've seen, this one was just so underhandedly wrong in the way they twisted the facts to their message. Unfortunately (or fortunately) they didn't play it again during the game. I am sure it will show up more before November 2nd though, so if I don't see it first, hopefully someone will report the sponsor here.

Since an UZI is a 'deadly assault rifle.. not used for hunting... made to kill people', a good response video could show a picture of a spoon while a ominous sounding voice warns "This is a fork, it's not used as a tool to more efficiently deliver nutrients to your body, it's made to tear the flesh of dead baby cows as it lies bleeding on your plate waiting for you to consume it."

That ad really made me sick. The sad part is that they will get votes from it because people are so f***ing stupid to research the subject on their own and realize that the TV is lying to them.
