Re: How we made a PVC Target Stand
I build two using the design on 'theboxotruth' site. Photo is from there. I glued mine too. I can't imagine the PVC parts getting shot.

Re: How we made a PVC Target Stand
One of our buddies used to bring out some resettable poppers. We would tell everybody that they were .22 only, but sooner or later somebody we didn't know would slip through and blast them with a .30 cal.
Obviously it depends on the range. But, give them enough range time, they will get hit either way.
BTW, I'm looking at that pic, and you've really gone downhill

Re: How we made a PVC Target Stand
Those are nice stands. I may have to make some of the pvc stands for different targets!
I did mine like this for another cheap alternative.
Its easy to drive in with your feet and just add a paper silhouette and its good to go.Last edited by shooker8; October 23rd, 2010 at 08:59 PM.

Re: How we made a PVC Target Stand
Those are some good but reasonable designs for target frames.

Re: How we made a PVC Target Stand
I made a bunch of the PVC stands for my use and to be used when I qualified my department. They are cheap to build as I had lots of PVC laying around, however like I said, they do break easy. And they are very light. The slightest breeze wants to tip them over. I solve the weight issue by stuffing the legs with the old window weights.
They work, but I prefer the wooden ones now. Stll cheap to build from scrap 2x4's and firring strips. The added weight from the wood helps keep them from falling over in the wind, although a good breeze will still flip them. A sandbag or two on the feet will prevent this. Plus they can take more abuse.
These are some of the PVC stands in use a few years ago.

Re: How we made a PVC Target Stand
Here is a stand my BIL made (he made 2, one for him, one for me). The vertical legs screw into the "tees" of the base, so that they can be removed for compact storage and transport. He used some rubber tube about 2" I.D. to hold the vertical pieces. They work very nicely.

Re: How we made a PVC Target Stand
I got to check out Guns4fun's target stands and it is certain that the slightest breeze would not blow them over. The guys did a good job.
I shot at them a few times. What I really wanted to do was shoot all of them at once but I was afraid of hitting the wood risers. Now that the risers have been hit a few times, maybe they won't mind next time

Interesting. I never thought about making one. Now it's a must do! I'm half tempted to build one out of Legos! (I have a strange obsession with making things out of Lego's)
