Fingerprints rejected
I had received my Utah Lisc. several weeks ago. Just yesterday i got a notice that my prints were rejected by the FBI because they weren't completely readable. They also sent a new blank fingerprint card and a listing with pictures as to the problem but none of the boxes were checked off.
Two queations:
1. Why would they send out the lisc. before the prints were run through the FBI?
2. Where can I get a new set of prints to send back in?
My Lisc at this point would not be considered valid until this is cleared up.
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Fingerprints rejected
Wow that's weird. I wish I had an answer. I would think since the permit was issued it would be valid.

Re: Fingerprints rejected
Call up your local State Police barracs and ask them if they do fingerprinting for FBI background checks. Don't tell them it's for a Utah permit.
They probably will do it, and probably pretty cheep.
Your local PD may also offer this service.

Re: Fingerprints rejected
I went to a local PD for fingerprints for my Florida license. I told them it was for a gun permit and they did it free.

Re: Fingerprints rejected
With the UT license there should have been a letter stating something along the lines of "you're clear so far so here is your license. If we come up with anything, we will inform you."

Re: Fingerprints rejected
I went to the nearest PSP barracks. They did it for free. They asked why I needed them but never said anything when I told them it was for the Utah license. I do remember getting a letter with it saying the background check wasn't complete at the time it was issued.

Re: Fingerprints rejected
This is a legal option. There is no requirement that a law enforcement agency or someone with some special certification do your prints for you. That said, it does take some practice to do them properly. The prints need to be 'rolled' onto the card. You don't just 'stamp' the print on there.
Who did them the first time, and did you pay for that service? If so, I'd see about having them correct their own mistake.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! PM for more info.
