center of mass in car gun safe...
I know pa patriot did a run of these a while back which I didn't get it on, but I'm considering buying 1 now and wanted any 1st hand opinions on the quality of these safes
http://www.center-of-mass.com/Store_InCarGunSafe.htm
I'll likely get the large safe so if I do decide to carry my full size guns, I'm not hosed should I need to lock up the gun.
2nd question.......what are the possible legal actions if my car were to get stolen while my gun was inside it. would I legally be responsible? if the gun that was in my stolen car was used in a crime, am I responsible? trying to weigh the options so I can start carrying to and from work.Peace, Prosperity, and Liberty

I have one of each size. Use one in the car but you need something to tie the cable around. It does slide around a lot so you may want to get some velcro tape.

Re: center of mass in car gun safe...
I have one of these attached to my driver seat mount in my car. I love it and trust it if I need to leave anything of value in my car for a short period. But, don't think of it as a "safe" because it is much more of a lock box. I think with some sort of tools (read: big ass rock), it would only be a matter of minutes to get it open and to whatever was inside. That said, the average criminal breaking into a car wouldn't spend the time or make the noise to bash a metal lock box open with a rock. But if they REALLY wanted whatever was inside, they would be able to get to it.
ETA: I'm not 100% sure of the ramifications of a gun stolen from you being used in a crime, but I would imagine it'd be best if you reported it stolen ASAP (probably the same time you report the car stolen).Last edited by Entropy; October 12th, 2010 at 08:27 AM.

I purchased two of these in July. One of the safes will now not lock. I requested a replacement today. I'll keep you posted on their customer service quality.
