Default Glock 23 mag release sucks...

What "fix" is there for a Glock 23 magazine release that allows the strong side thumb to be able to depress the button enough to release the magazine?

    HELP!

I think that might be one of the things that the gen 4 guns correct? Don't quote me on that, I'm no glock expert. Just a thought.

An extended mag release? They are a couple bucks and easy to install.

I'll second the extended mag release. I have larger hands and have no problems dropping the mag on my G19. My wife, with much smaller hands had some issues getting it to release every time. The extended release fixed things right up. Otherwise, try modifying your grip a little when doing mag changes, that might help too.

456 - A strong hand I don't have a problem release the magazine on any of my Glocks, just a flick of the thumb. No trick just do it. Can you reach the release in a shooting position? Try using the left thumb.

It isn't my gun. (I would not buy one of these.) I was training with a friend and when we attempted to do a combat reload, it was ONL:Y possible to drop the magazine by using two hands. Not so "combat".

    What a piece of garbage.

Thanks for the tip on the extended release, I will need to find a source. But this Tupperware should work from the factory.

You sure you weren't using the NFML/non drop-free mags?

They can hang in the mag well/grip, requiring a pull from your weak hand to get them out of the gun...

How are you doing your combat reload?

Watch this video at about 33 seconds in. You use your index finger to rotate your grip while bringing the pistol into your "workspace". Rotating puts your short thumb where it needs to be for the mag release.

Tell your friend to live with it, suck it up and move on, adapt, improvise and overcome, real life aint like a day at the range.

Glock hasnt changed the mag release in how many years for a reason , it works under adverse conditions, change to an extended mag release and you open up a whole nother problem , like accidentally releasing your mag every time you sit, holster your weapon, or take a shit.

Its a weapon not a toy
