Re: How juries view guns in defence situations
Interesting article.
One point of contention I have with this article, is the use of college students. I understand it would be very difficult to do this study any other way, but how many of those college students are actually home owners? What does the average college student know about being a home owner and being the one responsible for the safety of themselves and loved ones? They are just starting to learn how to take care of themselves, most of them still relying on mommy and daddy for financial support.

Re: How juries view guns in defence situations
I thought it was an interesting view of the issues, but things like this "...the North Hollywood Shout-out" nearly destroyed the credibility of the study, for me.
Using college students is likely to provide a skewed outcome, but that can be controlled for, and a curve applied. Just take any numbers, and shift them by about 90%, to get closer to the stance of responsible adults!
All in all, the article provides good food for thought, and some idea of how you'll want to work with your attorney when arguing your self-defense case, and is clear proof that we need castle doctrine!Kevin Singleton, Potawatomi - {ZRT - Sector 4}
