Why haven’t YOU attended an Appleseed shoot?

Is Appleseed for everyone? I’ve heard just about every excuse. Here are a few (there are many more). If you fall into any of the above categories please check it. It would be a big help as we expand the program here in Pennsylvania. If you have another reason list it.

I've seen many folks show up despite certain misgivings (excuses) and still have worthwhile experience. I'll be sure to answer any posts that I have a perspective on.

two things, i don't have any money to commit to one and an injury prevents me from getting into some of the shooting positions if i did have the money.

I'm going in front of the board at Lower Providence Rod and Gun Club in Oaks next week to get their approval to host Appleseeds. That'll get shoots going in SEPA!

Also - if you are aware of a club that would be interested in hosting a shoot - let me know and I'll come out and work with the club to get Appleseeds there.


BTW - The monthly shoots in Manheim are only an hour west of the Valley Forge interchange on the Turnpike...

Appleseed looks like a good way to go for kids and beginners. I see it as an avenue for those who don't own or can't afford a service rifle. It permits anyone who has a 22 rifle to get out and learn marksmanship.

Reason I don't attend Appleseed - I participate/compete in the Civilian Marksmanship Program and NRA HP.

I don't attend as there's no way I can do an entire weekend. A morning? Definitely. A day? Probably. Not a whole weekend.

Not to mention my club does CMP every week, so I'd probably just sign up for that for free.

If you want to do a day and you shoot CMP - sign up for a Sunday - my usual Sunday course of fire is around 400 rounds - you'll get lots of practice and we review all of the instruction we cover on Saturdays.

I checked "It's too expensive", but would like to clarify. I believe that it's a fair price for what's offered, but as I transition to unemployment and severely tighten my budget, it's too expensive for me, right now.

Same here, I am trying to be frugal, and just can't justify the price right now.

I would love to make it to one, but finding the spare time/money/rounds, is a little on the tough side. From what I understand, it is a great event. It just isn't in the cards for me right now.
