Re: GUNSMITH
Try Bill Buchanan at Buchanan Gunsmithing. They have a website so start there. He does all my work for me.

Re: GUNSMITH
Hi Craig,
I'm a gunsmith and just moved to Newfoundland a month ago from SEPA. The shop isn't really setup yet but I can do non-machine work. What do you need done?

Re: GUNSMITH
I'd recommend Dave Wells up in Nicholson, PA, Susquehanna County. He is an outstanding, highly skilled gunsmith...not just a machinist. It is a ride but it is worth it IMHO...if you want something really involved done. He's on the level of Hart in Nescopeck. Dave will often do something not always encountered...he just might work on your gun while you are there.
p.s. Dave doesn't have another job...he is a smith full time with a highly equipped shop. 570-222-2213

Re: GUNSMITH
Thanks everyone.... My need for a smith is to bring my girls in for a tuneup and a spring job on occasion. I am usually on the boat and the salt air moisture attends to show up after a few years. Between the pitting and rust, I like to get springs and adjustments every once in a while.
Also, I just picked up another 45 that will need some new sights and a trigger pull adjustment.
Marlin Camp 9
Remington 522 Viper (Yes, that POS is my favorite)
Walther PPK 38 (Don't ask)
XDM9
Colt Gov't (This is my military issue sweetheart and still looks great)
GSG 22 1911 (Wife wanted something to shoot, and I like it alot)
SAM 1911 GI (replacing the Colt for on board the boat) Needs sights

Re: GUNSMITH
Hate to dig up an old thread, but are any of the smiths listed here good with AKs? I need to thread a VEPR barrel, which is fairly easy but I don't have the tools. And secondly, and probably more difficult is to drill the FSB to accept a spring and plunger for a muzzle device.
If there are any other reputable gunsmiths in the Pike area that you know of, grateful if you could also add it to this list.

Thanks Indiandave; I'll give Bill a call. I'll also call Brent Doety in Shohola as he's closer to me.
