Ok then it must be one BIG delusion because taxes on alcohol,tobacco and firearms are handled, collected and violations enforced by the TTB which is part of the Treasury Dept. NOT by BATFE which is DOJ.

And yet again, another useless government agency is created.

The BATFE was originally part of the treasury. When it could no longer justify it's overhead, it switched to the DOJ to engage in seizures. Just as the TTB eventually will.

I dunno about you but the last time I bought a firearm I had to fill out a form and pay a fee. Printed on the top of the form:

"Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives"

The letterhead did not consist of "Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau"'

I was just reading a press release on their website...

After a 21 month multi-agency undercover investigation of the Pagans they managed to arrest something like 17 individuals on drug, murder and weapon traficing charges...

The net result for the ATF?

34 guns confiscated.

Two freakin' years of ATF involvement and they net 34 guns?

Shit, cops probably leave more than 34 guns in two years on toilet bowl tanks at turnpike rest stops.
