Default "New" MK II and some questions

I just came home a little while after meeting fellow forum member Beezer, and changing some of my hard earned cash into this:

Theoretically speaking, if I wanted to put iron sights back on this (since it didn't come with them), does anyone have any suggestions for what I might look for? And, if I do decide to put some irons, or plastics (you know, fiber optics) on this thing, anyone interested in a Leupold M8 4x extended relief scope?

The sights you seek are such as these:

Nice. I have one like it. Mine has a six inch barrel, and a leopuld scope. I did put abetter mount onto it. The original was really cheap.

I have another mk2 that also has some nice sights that came from ruger. >aybe start ther. Or brownells.

are you going to thread the barrel?
troll Free. It's all in your mind.

I really like the adjustable factory sights that come on the current MKIII target models. I'll see if I can dial up a link.

This is the factory rear that I really like. Not too pricey either:

Or, you can always go the VQ direction. I've seen these and like them, but am not into paying the price:

If the scope has to go I could be interested. Rings included?

Thanks. I just got off the phone a little while ago with the very nice people at Ruger, and some factory original sights are on the way.

After the last episode!?! Actually, Mrs. Plinker asked me the same thing. I am not. With a 10" barrel, bulk load stuff goes supersonic 99% of the time, so I would have to feed it standard velocity stuff just to plink with it. Heck, I have to do that with the 6 7/8" barrel that is threaded, although sometimes I just live with the crack and no boom.

After ordering the Ruger sights, I spent some time on the phone with the people who made the rail that is on it now. Apparently it is designed so that it may be quickly and easily interchanged with iron sights, just by knocking the dovetail out with a couple of taps (i.e. it is not drifted in) So, that means the scope is staying. On the other hand, if you are looking for a scope, I have a Leupold M8 2x extended eye relief that does not have rings for it, but for which I could make you a very nice deal. Send me a PM if you are interested.
