Taurus PT 111 9mm
I sold my Ruger Blackhawk today and as I was walking out to my truck my brother-in-law called. He won a Taurus PT 111 9mm last weekend at a gun bash and doesn't need two 9mm's. He says he would take $200 if I wanted it. Brand new, never loaded, never fired, never even taken out of the blue plastic bag it came in. This gun was #1 on my short list of handguns I was interested in once I sold my Ruger. I hope to shoot it tomorrow but so far like how it feels. I am like a kid on Christmas .

Yeah I think so considering he also threw in the holster he bought for it but obviously didn't use (Uncle Mike's Side Kick). He said he was returning the favor because I sold him a .30-06 rifle one time really cheap because I didn't need it and he was looking for one.

Re: Taurus PT 111 9mm
I went down to A&S in Youngwood today and shot 100 rounds. I like this gun. It has a heck of a kick, but at 10 yards it was really pretty accurate, much better than I expected from a small handgun. I haven't shot a semi-automatic in 5-6 years and I was pleasantly surprised. I feel even better about my purchase now. It seemed to hit low and left but I am think that may have been my inexperience.

Re: Taurus PT 111 9mm
The Taurus website says this gun is a SA/DA. The first 2 generations were both DAO i think. Can you tell me how this gun operats as a Single action? There is no external hammer and i don't think there is a de-cocker. Or is the website just wrong?

Re: Taurus PT 111 9mm
They are SA once you work the slide and load a round and only revert to DA if a round fails to fire. Mine does not have a hammer or de-cocker.
This is a good video. It is on the 24/7 but my PT111 Pro is the same.
